Meditation and Mindfulness Course for Stress and Wellbeing

A great starting point for beginners

The Mindfulness and Meditation Course for Stress and Wellbeing consists of 8 weekly sessions where you learn 4 different types of meditation to improve your health and wellbeing. The course is based on teachings from the Bompu Zen tradition which is a method that has been taught and practised in Japan since the 9th Century. Although its origins are in the Rinzai School of Zen Buddhism, the aim of this particular method is to develop the health and wellbeing of all people regardless of personal backgrounds. These methods are taught in conjunction with the latest scientific research into the benefits of meditation and mindfulness and also incorporates instruction in Qigong (mindfulness of the body) exercises which rebalance energy and strengthen your body. There is significant emphasis on a holistic approach, i.e. equal importance is given to developing awareness of both the mind and the body.

This course is different to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) in that it takes a wider view of wellbeing, believing that's it's more than simply alleviating psychological distress or stress reduction. This course also benefits from hundreds of years of knowledge and practice.
